Awareness program at school:
Some tips for increasing nutrition awareness at school:
- As Jamie oliver has brought in food revolution in British and American schools. He has taken many efforts to improve schools by removing junk food from schools. According to parent survey, he has done more to improve schools meals than the Government. We should have many clones of Jamie Oliver so that, this world would be better place to live.
2. Monthly Newsletter: School's should send monthly news letter to parents about importance of nutrition. Newsletter aslo should include healthy eating tips with nutritious reciepies in it.
3. Poster dispaly in shools: Food list posters should be used to educate students, staff and family members about healthy choices and school nutrition policies. (http://www.healthyeatingpei.ca/pdf/hea_poster_11x17_web.pdf)
4. School Nutrition Comittee: Schools should encourage nutrition comittees involving students and teachers. These committee's should spread nutrition awareness in each grade and share sucess stories related to promoting healthy eating initiatives at school.
5. 100 healthy tips: School's should develop various eating tips and communicate to students through morning announcement, school letter's, bulletin board and school website or blogs.
